Inside the airport: Aena’s free assistance
Aena, which runs the airport, offers a free assistance service for passengers with reduced mobility, known in Spanish as “Sin Barreras”. Staff help you from a meeting point through check-in, security and boarding, and on arrival from the aircraft to the exit. According to Aena, you need to request it at least 48 hours before departure.
You can ask your airline or travel agency when you book, or request it directly through Aena’s website, its app or its phone line. One request can cover up to four flights. If you only told your airline, go to a meeting point early and announce yourself; if no time was agreed, Aena asks you to be there at least two and a half hours before departure.

Metro and buses
According to TMB, 156 of the 165 metro stations have lifts, and the whole bus network is adapted for people with reduced mobility, with a ramp, a kneeling system and two reserved spaces for wheelchairs, scooters and pushchairs on each bus. Before you travel, check that both the station where you change lines and your destination station have lifts, and whether any lift is out of service that day.
The airport stations of L9 Sud need a specific ticket: the Airport ticket or one of the cards that include the airport on the TMB fares page.
The Aerobús and the taxi
The Aerobús runs 24 hours a day between both terminals and Plaça de Catalunya and has space for large suitcases and pushchairs. If you use a wheelchair, check the boarding arrangements with the operator before you travel.
Official taxis wait at the ranks of both terminals. The metropolitan taxi fleet includes adapted vehicles; ask at the rank, or check the AMB taxi pages before you travel.
A private transfer: what to tell us
QuickPickups, which publishes this guide, sells private transfers, and its booking box is marked on this page. The driver tracks your flight and meets you in the arrivals hall; if you use the Aena assistance, the assistance staff can take you to the meeting point. The price is fixed when you book.
If the passenger travels with a folding wheelchair, a walker or a mobility aid, note it in the booking so the vehicle has room for it alongside the luggage. If the passenger needs to stay seated in a non-folding wheelchair during the journey, call or send a WhatsApp message before booking so we can tell you honestly whether we can do the trip.
Practical tips

Booking a private transfer: the usual questions
- Is the price really fixed?
- Yes. You see the full price for the vehicle before you pay, and it does not change with traffic, the route or the time of day.
- What if my flight is late?
- Your flight number is tracked in real time and the pick-up time is adjusted. At the airport you get 60 minutes of free waiting after landing; at the cruise port, 30 minutes.
- How will I find the driver?
- At the airport the driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign. Your confirmation email has the contact details.
- Can I get child seats?
- Yes, on request when you book, for a small supplement shown before you pay. Tell us the age or weight of each child.
- Can I get an invoice?
- Yes. QUICKPICKUPS S.L. can issue an invoice for your booking, including one made out to your company.
- What if my plans change?
- Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance are free. You can manage the booking from your confirmation email or by writing to info@quickpickups.es.
