Where it is
The stadium stands in the Les Corts district, next to the university campus on Diagonal. The main streets around it are Avinguda de Joan XXIII, Travessera de les Corts, Carrer d’Arístides Maillol and Avinguda del Doctor Marañón. The stadium is being renovated in phases, so gates and access routes can change from one event to the next: always follow the gate and the route printed on your ticket.
The options at a glance
| From | Public transport | Changes | By road |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airport (T1 or T2) | Metro L9 Sud to Collblanc or Zona Universitària | None | 20–25 min by taxi or transfer |
| City centre (Pl. Catalunya) | Metro L3 to Les Corts or Palau Reial | None | 15–20 min |
| Sants station | Metro L5 to Badal or Collblanc; or L3 to Les Corts | None | 10 min |
| Cruise port (Adossat) | Cruise bus to Portal de la Pau, then metro L3 from Drassanes | One | 20 min |
Road times are typical for normal traffic. On event days they lengthen in the hours before the start, when the streets near the stadium are restricted.
By metro: which station
Several lines stop within walking distance. On L3 (green), Palau Reial, Les Corts, Maria Cristina and Zona Universitària; on L5 (blue), Collblanc, Badal and Ernest Lluch; and L9 Sud and L10 Sud stop at Collblanc. Pick the station by your gate: Les Corts and Palau Reial suit the Travessera de les Corts and Diagonal sides, Collblanc and Badal the Arístides Maillol side.
From the airport, TMB runs L9 Sud from Aeroport T1 and T2 with connections at Collblanc and Zona Universitària, so you can get off right by the stadium without changing. The single ticket and the T-casual are not valid at the airport stations: buy the Airport ticket or a Hola Barcelona card. The metro runs until midnight Monday to Thursday and on Sundays, until 2:00 on Fridays and the eve of public holidays, and all night on Saturdays, according to TMB.
By tram and bus
Tram lines T1, T2 and T3 of the Trambaix leave from Francesc Macià and run along Diagonal, with stops such as Pius XII, Palau Reial and Maria Cristina a short walk from the stadium. Many TMB buses also serve the area, including the H6, H8, V1, V3, V5, D20, 7, 33, 54, 67 and 113. On event days several of them are diverted or cut short around the stadium, so check TMB’s map and service alerts before you set off.
By taxi or car on event days
On match and concert days, the City Council’s mobility plan restricts traffic on the streets around the stadium before the start and again from shortly before the end until the crowd has cleared, and parking is not allowed in the immediate area. Taxis have a reserved rank on Carrer de Menéndez y Pelayo. Fares are metered under the AMB rules, with the usual airport supplement if you come straight from El Prat.
Driving yourself is the least practical option: the closures, the queues and the parking ban make public transport or a drop-off by someone else much easier.
Getting back after the event
The hard part is the end. The whole crowd leaves within minutes, the nearest stations fill up and free taxis are scarce while the streets stay closed. Walking ten or fifteen minutes to a station further out, such as Maria Cristina or Zona Universitària, often beats queuing at the closest one. If you are going straight to the airport or the port, check the last metro of the night before you go.
For a group, a family or a late finish, a pre-booked car is the calmest way home: the driver waits on a street open to traffic a short walk away, rather than at the gate. Camp Nou Transfers, QuickPickups’ own site for stadium trips, explains how that pickup works.
Tips for match and concert days
- Check your gate on the ticket before choosing a station; the stadium is large and walking around it takes time.
- Buy metro tickets in advance; the machines near the stadium get busy before the start.
- Arrive early: queues at the security checks build up in the last hour.
- Agree a meeting point with your group for the end, away from the gates; phone coverage can be patchy in a full stadium.
- Arriving by plane the same day? See every option from the airport to the centre, and Sants to the airport for the trip home.
QuickPickups booking service
Booking a private transfer: the usual questions
- Is the price really fixed?
- Yes. You see the full price for the vehicle before you pay, and it does not change with traffic, the route or the time of day.
- What if my flight is late?
- Your flight number is tracked in real time and the pick-up time is adjusted. At the airport you get 60 minutes of free waiting after landing; at the cruise port, 30 minutes.
- How will I find the driver?
- At the airport the driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign. Your confirmation email has the contact details.
- Can I get child seats?
- Yes, on request when you book, for a small supplement shown before you pay. Tell us the age or weight of each child.
- Can I get an invoice?
- Yes. QUICKPICKUPS S.L. can issue an invoice for your booking, including one made out to your company.
- What if my plans change?
- Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance are free. You can manage the booking from your confirmation email or by writing to [email protected].
